Our Story

Our story started years ago when our founder, Todd, had a close friend who owned an Amish furniture store and didn’t have time to do deliveries. Todd took it upon himself to help him out and started doing deliveries on Saturdays for his customers while still working his normal job. People were in constant need of his services and excessively calling his friend’s store asking if Todd could do deliveries or help move, so he decided to commit to his business full time and established 2 Guys and a Trailer. For over fifteen years, we’ve been helping Kankakee County and the surrounding areas with all of their moving needs and are trusted across the country for our quality services.

We specialize in professional local moving, long-distance, and office moving services so we can be there for our customers who can’t do it all themselves or would rather not deal with the hassle. We’re locally owned and operated and a fully licensed and insured mover in all 48 landlocked states. We have over 15 years of experience and the knowledge and expertise we’ve gained in those years as well as our fast turn-around times set us apart and ahead of our competitors in the industry. It’s our mission to make the whole process as streamlined and efficient for you as possible. We’ll make sure everything is properly secured and stored while in transit so you can trust your items will be in the same shape as when they were packed or moved. When I called Todd, the owner, I had just been scammed out of $897 by a different moving company and my dad’s multistate move was a week away. I looked at BBB website and this company had an A+ rating and a lot of happy reviews. I spoke with Todd and explained I needed a small move from Illinois to NE Ohio and my parents 40 year old grandfather clock needed to be moved. Todd assured me he and his crew had experience with grandfather clocks and other precious large items. The day of the move; Todd communicated clearly and I knew what and when to expect him and his team. He quoted a very reasonable price over the phone (confirmed that day within the same range, no sneaky increases like the company that scammed me) and personally dismantled and packaged my parents grandfather clock and all its parts. The moving team arrived at my home 2 days later when they said they would, I even got a call from them alerting me they were less an than hour out so my family could get their vehicles ready. They read the labeled boxes (apt, house or storage) and placed them in the vehicles or house where we needed them. The clock arrived perfect. All the pieces and pendulum were gorgeous and protected well. I did the reassembly (they do not) and it works perfectly. Thank you so much Todd- you made a difficult move so much easier! Advice: use this mover if you want attention to detail and excellent communication and to know your items are well cared for!

I hired Two Guys and a Trailer to pick up a sleeper sectional sofa, remove two chairs and a loveseat from my home, and bring in and set up the new sleeper sectional. They made the entire process so easy! The guys were professional, friendly, careful, and incredibly efficient. They handled moving the furniture in and out without any issues and took the time to make sure the new sectional was positioned and set up exactly where I wanted it. I really appreciated how respectful they were of my home and my furniture. What could have been a stressful, exhausting job was completely hassle-free. They showed up on time, ready to work, got everything done efficiently, and were great to work with from start to finish.
