Our Story

Our story started years ago when our founder, Todd, had a close friend who owned an Amish furniture store and didn’t have time to do deliveries. Todd took it upon himself to help him out and started doing deliveries on Saturdays for his customers while still working his normal job. People were in constant need of his services and excessively calling his friend’s store asking if Todd could do deliveries or help move, so he decided to commit to his business full time and established 2 Guys and a Trailer. For over fifteen years, we’ve been helping Kankakee County and the surrounding areas with all of their moving needs and are trusted across the country for our quality services.

We specialize in professional local moving, long-distance, and office moving services so we can be there for our customers who can’t do it all themselves or would rather not deal with the hassle. We’re locally owned and operated and a fully licensed and insured mover in all 48 landlocked states. We have over 15 years of experience and the knowledge and expertise we’ve gained in those years as well as our fast turn-around times set us apart and ahead of our competitors in the industry. It’s our mission to make the whole process as streamlined and efficient for you as possible. We’ll make sure everything is properly secured and stored while in transit so you can trust your items will be in the same shape as when they were packed or moved. We take great pride in treating everything we move like it’s our own, and we never cut any corners in making sure everything is done efficiently and effectively.

When you work with us, you’re working with a local company comprised of a team of friendly and hardworking people whose goal is your complete satisfaction. We’ve built a lot of genuine, personable relationships with our customers over the years by offering a helping hand at an affordable price. On top of our local and long-distance residential and commercial moving services, we also have flatbed trailers available to help move any bigger items you have, and can also move any larger items within your home you may need assistance with such as a piano or antique clock. No matter your needs, we’ll be there to get the job done.

Whether you’re gearing up for a cross-country move or simply need things moved from your home to a storage unit, we have the equipment and experience to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible every time. Call us at (815) 530-2823 or fill out a contact form today to inquire more about our services. We look forward to meeting you and making your next move the easiest one yet.

Todd and his group were amazing! We had to move our daughter in one day for her safety and they were so polite and understanding. They were quick and efficient and didn’t leave one mark anywhere and ALL of her items were in perfect condition after the move and setup! Would use again and recommend 100%!!!

On 10/12/2026 Paul Brocksmith had this to say:
Todd and Reese moved several large pieces of furniture across town to temp storage for me. They were hard working, efficient, careful and pleasant to work with. A very good experience, I will definitely contact Todd again when the furniture moves to its final destination. Testimonial written by Paul Brocksmith on this site.

Todd and his company came recommended by a friend. It was a complicated move. 2 homes and a business into local storage and then moved eventually from Illinois to South Carolina. I never had a single issue. The prices were fair and communication was always quick and Todd always had great advice.

On 10/10/2026 Amanda Cieslik had this to say:
The movers were great! They were quick and efficient. They were very careful with all our items and put them back together in our new house as they were in our old house. Would highly recommend.
